Will these guidelines and proposed Development Control Plan amendments impact my current Development Application?
No. The draft Foreshore and Waterway Development Guidelines and proposed amendments to the Lake Macquarie Development Control Plan (LMDCP) 2014 will apply to new Development Applications only after the guidelines are adopted and incorporated into the DCP 2014, which is expected to occur in early 2024.
What types of development do these changes relate to?
The Foreshore and Waterway Development Guidelines and proposed Development Control Plan amendments will apply to development like boat sheds, domestic slipways, jetties and boat ramps, floating pontoons, swimming pools, seawalls, private dwellings, stairs and inclinators, fencing on the lake foreshore.

How can I make a submission?
I've made a submission - what happens next?
After exhibiting the draft Foreshore and Waterway Development Guidelines and DCP amendments, we will consider submissions received and make any required amendments.
We expect a report will be presented to Council for adoption in the first half of 2024.
You will be notified prior to Council considering the matter, which will include a link to the Council report containing a summary of submissions and how feedback was considered.
What should I put in a submission?
Your submission can be as concise or as long as you wish.
Ideally, you will express your level of support for the plan and provide detailed and specific feedback. The feedback will be reviewed by staff and later presented to Council to make an informed decision.
Should multiple submissions be received from a single resident regarding this project, the feedback will be reviewed by staff and counted as one submission when reporting back to Council.
Any submission received by Council will be publicly available on Council’s website. Submissions may also be accessed under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. Council may reproduce submissions in Council reports or in Court proceedings.
