Council adopted the Cockle Creek Precinct Area Plan at the Ordinary Council meeting on 24 April 2023 and will come into effect on 22 May 2023. You can view the Council report (page 74) andprecinct area plan online.
The Cockle Creek Precinct Area Plan has been prepared to provide an updated vision, objectives and development controls for this growing area of the City. The update will facilitate the delivery of contemporary retail, light industrial, business park, residential and open space development, consistent with outcomes envisaged for the North West Lake Macquarie Catalyst Area.
The Cockle Creek precinct is located in the North West Lake Macquarie Catalyst Area at the northern end of Lake Macquarie between Cockle Creek and Munibung Hill.
This public exhibition closed on 7 June 2021.
