What are our community facilities used for?

Community facilities provide places where people can meet, socialise, learn and participate in a broad range of activities, events, and programs.

How many community facilities are there in Lake Macquarie City?

Lake Macquarie City Council owns and operates about 80 community facilities across the city. This includes community halls, multi-purpose facilities, preschool and childcare facilities, meals on wheels centres and libraries (some of which include community meeting rooms).

What will Council do with the feedback?

Council will use the feedback and ideas from the survey to develop a draft program of works to upgrade community facilities across Lake Macquarie City over the coming years. Funding for these improvements has come from the actions carried out in the Lake Macquarie City Council Community Facilities Strategy (September 2011). We encourage you to have your say on where these funds go.
