Thank you for providing feedback on the flood planning for Winding Creek and Lower Cockle Creek catchment.

Council adopted the flood study and plan at its meeting on 27 June 2017.

The study

The Floodplain Risk Management Study and Management Plan covers the Winding Creek and Lower Cockle Creek catchments, and includes part of the suburbs of Edgeworth, Cardiff, Argenton, Glendale and Boolaroo. Following a review of community feedback and the plan finalised, it will be used by Council to manage existing and future flood risks and mitigate damage from floods within the area.

The study and management plan builds on the Winding Creek and Lower Cockle Creek Flood study (June 2015) and identifies a number of management measures that can be used to reduce future flood risks in the catchment.

    Council welcomes your feedback on the Draft Risk Management Study and Risk Management Plan that has been prepared for managing flood risks in the Winding Creek and Lower Creek catchments.

    The report describes recommendations for how flood liable lands within the catchments are to be managed, now and into the future, and identifies which of the options are recommended for adoption by Council. Please let us know what you think of these.
