Children and Families Strategy

With more than 55,000 families in Lake Mac and 31,000 children aged 0-11 years, we want to ensure our City is safe, fun and supportive to meet the needs of kids and families living in our vibrant City.

We want to hear from local families and kids about what is important to you, what you love about our community and what you would like to see more of to help us plan our actions and priorities for the next four years. Join our discussion boards below to share your ideas or complete a survey.

This strategy ensures the safety of children is considered and prioritised as we strive to create a child-safe City for our youngest citizens. Review our current strategy and recent achievements to see how Council is currently supporting families and children.

  • This survey asks the discussion questions and allows your responses to be heard, just less publicly. We understand discussion boards are good, but they are not for everyone and we want people to have the chance to contribute the way they prefer. There's also the opportunity to upload a  prepared submission.

We're asking our community to share ideas to improve the support and create new opportunities for kids and families in Lake Mac and make it an even better place to live and play.

These ideas will help shape actions for the 2021-2025 Children and Families Strategy. For more information on how Council support children and families, review our current strategy and recent achievements.
