Council adopted the draft Killingworth Paper Subdivision Area Plan and will amend the Lake Macquarie Development Control Plan 2014 to incorporate the draft Area Plan.


Submissions for the draft Killingworth Area Plan are now closed. The Project Team will now review the feedback - thank you to everyone who made a submission.

The draft Killingworth Area Plan is a step towards enabling Killingworth Paper Subdivision landowners to lodge development applications to develop their residential lots.

It will also provide controls for the delivery of roads, essential utility services, appropriate bushfire protection and water quality management associated with future development.

The progression of the draft Area Plan will support Council staff to work with Killingworth Paper Subdivision landowners to deliver roads and essential utility services. You can read more about past consultation with landowners on our Killingworth Paper Subdivision webpage.

This exhibition closed 17 May 2021.

Council will take all submission into consideration when finalising the draft Area Plan for Council endorsement later this year.
