Help us improve Belmont and Edgeworth libraries and you could win an iPad Mini

The community is invited to be part of our story by helping Lake Macquarie City Council drive the transformation of traditional library services at Belmont and Edgeworth into libraries that reflect the needs and wants of the community, now and beyond.

Council’s Library Section Manager, Jo Smith, said Council and the community have proven that library spaces can be flexible to allow for a variety of programs and events to be delivered, with Cardiff Library being a prime example.

“The relocation of Cardiff Library last year as a shopfront in Cardiff’s business hub has been a positive step for both library members and Council, with a 71 per cent increase in visitation and 48 per cent increase in loans, compared to last year,” Ms Smith said.

“It’s important for Council to provide spaces for the community to connect and interact, as Cardiff Library is.

"Belmont and Edgeworth libraries already provide a significant contribution to their communities, including supporting education and literacy programs and providing recreational activities. To build on the strengths and maximise the potential of these important spaces, we’re inviting the community to give their feedback on how we can make Belmont and Edgeworth libraries relevant now and into the future.”

The person who provides the most creative or innovative ideas for Belmont and Edgeworth libraries will win an iPad Mini. Terms and conditions of this competition are available on http://www.lakemac.com.au/library-services/terms-and-conditions.
