    Edgeworth Library

by lakemac1, almost 9 years ago

Edgeworth library is convenient and they have a good collection but parking is an issue.

Cardiff library doesn't seem very vibrant unless there's an event such as preschool group. The books along the bottom are too difficult for me to access physically. I've had to park across the road and feel uncomfortable crossing the road. I enjoy reading a physical book rather than ebooks. Cardiff Library offers book club members opportunity to borrow new books first.

Edgeworth Library - needs to move

by lakemac1, almost 9 years ago

Library is really good and staff are really good but the library needs to move to a location where the parking is better. Cardiff Library is lovely but parking is an issue there too. I don't visit the library in the afternoons because it is too difficult to park. The library really needs to move.

I order books online and visit the library to collect them.

    Edgeworth Library

by lakemac1, almost 9 years ago

I joined the book club through a friend who was already a member and also enjoy reading on my Kindle. I have read a lot of classic authors such Jane Austen and Emily Bronte and the book club has introduced me to genres I wouldn't usually pick for myself and sometimes find a new author to read further. The discussions give food for thought through all the different points of view.

Traffic is busy around the library and located on a nortorious corner.

    Egdeworth Library

I enjoy reading and often reserve books online to collect from the library. I really enjoy car magazines and would like to request that the library purchase "Octaine" magazine (English magazine) and "Motor Sport" magazine (another English magazine about the history of motor sport).

I also enjoy playing Mahjong at Swansea library.

I think though that Council will need to address the traffic and parking issues at Edgeworth library.

    Our library use

by Jane, almost 9 years ago

From a very early age my son enjoyed our frequent visits to Belmont library. We enjoyed the read and rhyme storytimes with the passionate staff in the spacious children's section. The clean facilities and parking made this a comfortable outing. As he grew and our needs changed we arranged our school holiday activities to utilise the wonderful ones offered by the Libraries. After moving our local Library is now Edgeworth, our visits are restricted due to the lack of facilities including parking. I frequently pick up titles we have ordered in on my way to work, unfortunately this is usually... Continue reading

Belmont library a hands down winner

by namij, almost 9 years ago

I have attended Belmont library almost weekly for 4years with my 3 children for books n babies. It's a brilliant service, and one that I could visit my local library for but we drive that extra distance to Belmont, as they are the hands down winners for this. My suggestion for Belmont library is to section off part of the library and offer a Café run by an 'outsider' chosen by a tender process. I have previously worked in a bookshop with a café and it was very successful. My twist on this is to offer a kids play area... Continue reading

    Our library

by 1313, almost 9 years ago

As a prolific reader the library is very important to me. Edgeworth library is a friendly welcoming library with wonderful staff. The change in the traffic has hindered those of us that struggle to find somewhere to park. The ideal place for the library would be over at the town center. Edgeworth library has served our community well for many years it is time for a move for the future of our growing community.

    Improving over relocating.

by Michael Hughes, almost 9 years ago

Everything can be improved by throwing more money at increasing services, but just having the council mobile library visit the community centre next door could be an idea to increase awareness and availability of different reading and multimedia material.

Advertising the availability of www.ancestry.com on a dedicated computer. I had to have the librarian input the password, the last time I had access. After looking on http://library.lakemac.com.au/ecollections/ebooks I didn't know there were free Wi-Fi available.

Cutting your losses and wiping the slate clean of anyone with fees outstanding from items returned late.

What about having a drop-off bin (with a... Continue reading

    BaRK Program at Edgeworth

by Sonya & Oscar, almost 9 years ago

Oscar (Delta Therapy Dog) and I have been visiting Edgeworth Library for 5 years. We love visiting and are always made to feel very welcome by Allison and her team. Oscar and I would like to see the library expand to include a dedicated reading room where Oscar could listen to the children read without distraction and interruption. We currently do this in the staff tea room which, for a Golden Retriever, is very challenging!
