Car parking is a critical element of our transport system. People are more likely to visit our town centres if they know they can get a parking space, footpaths are provided and are well maintained, and there are regular bus services.
Getting parking right is an important step in the growth of our town centres. The Parking Strategy provides a long-term strategic plan for the management of parking and transportation across all nine centres. It aims to maximise the use of our existing parking spaces and guide decisions on parking now and in the future.
The Lake Macquarie Parking Strategy was adopted by Council on Tuesday 12 June 2018.
