Why is Murrays Beach getting a new park?

The North Wallarah Peninsula Development Contributions Plan identified several recreational facilities to be provided at Murrays Beach including a new park, playground and tennis infrastructure.

Where will the park be located?

A site has been identified for the park at 90 Lake Forest Drive, Murrays Beach.

What is Council proposing for the Park?

We have developed two concept design options for the entire Park, and we want your feedback.

    Option 1

    Features:

    • 2 fenced tennis courts*
    • playground featuring swings, slide, climbing structures, natural play elements and more
    • park furniture, landscaping and footpaths

    Option 2

    Features:

    • double bat ball court (tennis hit wall)
    • half basketball court
    • playground featuring swings, slide, climbing structures, natural play elements and more
    • park featuring furniture, landscaping and footpaths

*The tennis courts will be managed in line with all other tennis courts located on Council land.  This includes the establishment of a tennis club that will manage bookings, fee collection and the ongoing maintenance of the tennis courts.  All users of the tennis courts will be required to pay the hourly hire rate for each use.

What is the timeline for the project?

The project will be completed over the next two years. Consultation and design work will be completed in 2020-2021, with construction expected to be completed on-site in 2021-2022.
