Consultation has concluded

Thank you to everyone who participated in this consultation. The amendment was gazetted on 25 September 2020.

We're currently seeking feedback on the draft amendment to the Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan 2014 (LMLEP 2014) and draft Windale Area Plan in the Lake Macquarie Development Control Plan 2014 (LMDCP 2014).

The proposed LMLEP 2014 amendments seek to change the rules applying to development in Windale by:

  • Encouraging more diverse housing in the area between Windale and Mount Hutton shops by expanding the R3 Medium Density Residential zone
  • Enabling the Windale shops to expand to meet the needs of the suburbs as it grows by expanding the B1 Neighbourhood Centre zone across the road from the existing shops
  • Tidying up land zone and other maps in the LMLEP 2014 to ensure they reflect the existing and intended use of land and property boundaries
  • Removing the Land Reservation Acquisition Maps from the Windale Bowling Club and from some RE1 Public Open Space land off Yertala Close in the south of Windale.

The LMDCP 2014 is a supporting document for the LMLEP 2014. The draft Windale Area Plan sits in the LMDCP 2014. It provides information about existing and desired future character of Windale, as well as guidance for development permitted with consent under LMLEP 2014.

After reviewing the draft documents you an provide feedback by commenting below or uploading a written submission.

Consultation closes 11 November 2019.
