Is this park going to be free for the kids to use or will fees be charged? Just asking as im a single mum of a son who rides both box & mountain bike but I cant afford fees for him to attend a location that im sure he & all his mates would love to attend on a regular basis. Also what is happening with the relocation of the skate n bike jumo/ramps that were removed from near the pcyc at windale. These kids near areas where they can spend there time as theres nothing in the area for them to do anything. Would the back of barloo oval in windale possibly be a location that both parks could be zoned to or is even the skate park getting put there? Also what the area of where the old quarry was located at the end of bulls garden road as a location for the box track to be placed. I look forward to hearing back from u. Cheers Renae
Ren nae asked over 3 years agoThanks for your question. Should a BMX/Pump track go ahead in Redhead, it would be a community facility available to be used freely by residents and visitors.
Council does not support construction of unauthorised bike jumps or tracks. We need to ensure that any structures are safely built for both the community and our environment.
We are planning to construct a new skate park at Bahloo Reserve, Windale. Works are expected to start in the first half of 2021.
The old quarry was considered by Council, however its location has been deemed inappropriate due to the proposed style of BMX/Pump Track currently open for consultation.
Kind regards, The Project Team

Will you consult the older kids on what they want ?
luckykent asked over 3 years agoThanks for your question. If the proposed BMX/Pump Track facility proceeds, then the next consultation opportunity will be at the design phase of the project. We will engage the whole community and include an opportunity specifically for young people of varying ages to have their say on the design of the track.

Will there be amenities provided and open and closed times for use of track.
Larissa asked over 3 years agoThanks for your question. Council will undertake a detailed assessment of each location with consideration of community feedback and current facilities available at each site. Providing additional amenities is not part of the scope of this proposed project.
As with similar community facilities e.g. skateparks or playgrounds, usage times are not limited or restricted.
Kind regards,
The Project Team

What will happen if the of leash dog park is used? Will there be another space created so dog owners can goto. Any chance that the dog park could be fenced?
Geoffrey Stanton asked over 3 years agoThanks for your question. The zoning and current use of each of the three sites will be considered as part of Council’s assessment process. There will be no decisions made until we have completed the consultation phase. We will keep the community updated as we progress.
