The Resources for Regions Program aims to support the ongoing prosperity of mining communities in regional NSW by providing economic opportunities, improved amenity and positive social outcomes.
For Council to apply for funding on behalf of a community group, we will need to understand all the project elements and be able to complete every question in the application form. Organisations interested in putting forward a project are encouraged to read the Program Guidelines and complete their submission below by COB Monday 20 July 2020.

Now until 20 July: Community members submit project ideas to Council
Resources for Regions has finished this stage
The community can submit project suggestions for the Resources for Regions Fund. Submissions will need to meet the NSW Government’s criteria and align with Council’s strategic vision for the City.
20 July – 28 July: Council assesses the project ideas it receives
Resources for Regions has finished this stage
Council will only consider projects that:
align with an adopted Council plan or strategy;
are deliverable within the timeframes for the grant;
are deliverable within the proposed budget; and
are a priority project as identified through Council’s community consultation.
29 July : Council staff advise community members which projects have been shortlisted

30 July - 2 September: Council prepare and submit applications to the NSW Government's Resources for Regions portal
Resources for Regions has finished this stage
All applications to the Resources for Regions fund must be submitted by Council via the online SmartyGrants system. Applications close 2 September.
3 September-November: NSW Government review projects submitted

November: Announcement of successful applications
