What technology goes where?

Developing the Emerging Technology Guidelines

Lake Macquarie’s new DCP guidelines for emerging technology will have to balance many issues - technology, timing, cost, responsibilities, competing priorities and regulation.

We would welcome your views and feedback on these issues, and any others, which you identify as important.

What technology goes where?

Smart technology requirements and value will differ widely, depending on the type and location of development across Lake Macquarie.

Smart parking and free public Wi-Fi might make sense for a new shopping precinct, but have no real benefit in a new low-density suburb.

Greenfield vs. infill, commercial vs. residential vs. industrial, tourist hot spot vs. local community space – the digital dimension must be tailored to fit the space and the place.

We are seeking your views on how the Development Control Guidelines for smart technology should account for different types of development in different locations across Lake Macquarie.
