The latest on the grapevine
Spring has sprung!
The bees are buzzing and so are we with new projects on the go and plenty of conversations with residents and businesses across the City as part of the Shape Your Future project.
Take part in our Future Forums series - it's free!
The eight-part series kicked off on Tuesday night with Hunter Research Foundation CEO, Dr Brent Jenkins, sharing his insights on the future of the Lake Macquarie economy. Listen to his talk here.
The next forum is on tonight, Thursday 8 September, at Blacksmiths Surf Life Saving Club, with Dr Gary Ellem, Thought Leader for Future Industries at the Tom Farrell Institute. He'll explore the future of Lake Macquarie’s natural environment, and a group workshop will follow.
Disability Inclusion Action Plan - creating a more inclusive Lake Mac
We can all play a part in making it easier for people with disability to live, work and play in our City. To make that a reality, we're developing a Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2017 - 2021 that will guide our planning and the actions we take now and in the future.
Draft Blackalls Park Flying-fox Camp Management Plan - for community review
The draft Plan outlines the issues or concern to the community caused by the presence of a flying-fox camp at Blackalls Park, our response, and measures that will be taken to manage the land and reduce conflict with the local community.
It has been prepared in consultation with OEH, as well as the Blackalls Park community. We invite your feedback on the draft plan by Friday 30 September. More
Fun factoid....If we lined up every car in the city, the line would stretch from Warners Bay to Brisbane!
