Council commences consultation for Thomas H Halton Park, Croudace Bay

Lake Macquarie City Council is planning for an exciting new recreation precinct at Thomas H Halton Park, Croudace Bay, and will be working with the community to prepare a draft Master Plan for the popular park.

Council’s Manager Community Planning, John Ferguson, said consultation with the community will occur in late June, and throughout July.

“The ideas and feedback provided will assist Council in planning new and improved facilities, which will better serve local residents and the wider Lake Macquarie community,” Mr Ferguson said.

“We will be asking the community to tell us what proposed features they like, could be improved or would like included as part of this major project.

“A draft Master Plan will be developed in consultation with the community and exhibited for further comment later this year.”

Potential upgrades for the park could include a dog agility area, a first for Lake Macquarie, as well as outdoor gym equipment, running loop and cycling connections, open space for events, BMX track, disc golf course, learner bicycle circuit and obstacles, improved amenity blocks, picnic areas, a new playground and upgraded skate park.

To find out more about the draft Master Plan for Thomas H Halton Park and provide your ideas, go to or visit Lake Mac Libraries Swansea or Belmont branches or Council’s Administration Building at Speers Point before Monday 18 July.

Council staff will be available to discuss this exciting project at Thomas H Halton Park (near the playground), between 9-11am on Wednesday 29 June, 3-5pm on Monday 4 July and 10am-1pm on Saturday 9 July.
