Teralba to Toronto Climate Resilience Planning

The north-western side of Lake Macquarie between Teralba and Toronto offers a great lifestyle and it’s important we all protect and care for our community, environment and economy.

We want to work with the community to proactively plan for flooding, sea and lake level rise, bushfire, urban heat and other climate risks that can impact on community and environmental wellbeing. We're specifically planning for climate resilience in the lakeside suburbs of Teralba, Booragul, Marmong Point, Woodrising, Bolton Point, Fennell Bay, Fassifern, Blackalls Park and Toronto.

We asked the community about the climate related changes they've noticed in the suburbs between Teralba and Toronto, and their ideas about how to plan for potential hazards. You can view the community engagement summary report online.

Phase one of community engagement closed 5 March 2023. Phase two of community engagement will take place in February and March 2024. We will work with the community to develop a range of strategies that help plan for and adapt to climate change hazards that were identified during phase one community engagement.
