At its meeting on Monday 25 March 2024, Council endorsed the draft Active Recreation Strategy for public exhibition. You can view this Council report online.

You're invited to review the draft Active Recreation Strategy and associated background report, engagement report and planning framework and analysis report online and make a submission before 30 April 2024.

Lake Macquarie City Council recognises the importance of active lifestyles and wellbeing. We have been developing a range of strategies that contribute towards our goal that Lake Macquarie is a place that encourages safe, active and social opportunities, including open spaces and facilities that are inclusive and adaptable.

Our Active Recreation Strategy will guide the future provision of open spaces, facilities and initiatives to support participation in active recreation for health and wellbeing.
