As our city continues to grow and develop, it is important that we protect our iconic lake.

Lake Macquarie is central to the unique lifestyle our community enjoys, so it is important that development along the lake foreshore is carefully managed to safeguard the environmental health of our lake, as well as the significant recreation, tourism and economic opportunities it provides.

Lake Macquarie City Council has developed draft Foreshore and Waterway Development Guidelines for Residents and proposed Lake Macquarie Development Control Plan amendments (Part 9.7 Foreshore and Waterway Development).
