Youth Voice Lake Mac

Following a period of public exhibition, Council adopted the Lake Macquarie Youth Strategy in August 2014.

Lake Macquarie City Council is encouraging feedback on its Ageing Population Strategy 2014-2017 and Youth Strategy 2014-2019, which identify issues affecting seniors and youth in the City, and set priorities and actions to address them.

Council’s Manager Community Planning, John Ferguson, said it is important for the community to be involved and have input into key strategies of Council.

“These strategic documents are important in driving the future services and directions for two key sectors of the Lake Macquarie community,” Mr Ferguson said.

“The Ageing Population strategy outlines a work program that ensures continuous improvement in access to services and facilities for older people, while reporting on the outcomes of the Council’s previous ageing strategy.

“Council’s Youth Strategy 2014-2019 provides for different spaces and facilities designed for young people, while making sure that young people have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to public life.

“I strongly encourage all members of the Lake Macquarie community to review these strategies and provide feedback between Saturday 5 April and Monday 19 June 2014, to help us deliver the best possible services now and into the future.”
