Thank you to everyone who provided feedback to help shape our Boolaroo Heritage Interpretation Plan.

You can read our report to learn more about how community feedback, gathered during May-July 2024, informed the plan.

We're proud of the rich heritage of Boolaroo and want to make sure it's preserved and celebrated now and into the future.

The Heritage Interpretation Plan will inform future streetscape improvement works along Main Road, Boolaroo, as guided by the upcoming Streetscape Master Plan. We are currently in the early stages of developing the Master Plan and will keep the community updated as this work progresses.

FAQs

A Heritage Interpretation Plan seeks to document the heritage of a specific location and provide guidance on how local history and stories can be interpreted and displayed within the physical environment.

This could be through additions to the streetscape such as architectural features, landscaping, public art or interpretive signage.

Our Lake Macquarie History website has more information on the history of Boolaroo including photos, links to articles on notable locations and residents and a Main Street Boolaroo Heritage Study published in 1997.
