Boolaroo Heritage Interpretation Plan

We're creating a Heritage Interpretation Plan for the historic suburb of Boolaroo.

We're proud of the rich heritage of Boolaroo and want to make sure it's preserved and celebrated now and into the future.

Thank you to everyone who contributed feedback to help shape the plan during May-July 2024. A report outlining outcomes of our community consultation is now available.

Your feedback will guide us as we work to prepare our Boolaroo Heritage Interpretation Plan, which is expected to be finalised by the end of 2024.

FAQs

A Heritage Interpretation Plan seeks to document the heritage of a specific location and provide guidance on how local history and stories can be interpreted and displayed within the physical environment.

This could be through additions to the streetscape such as architectural features, landscaping, public art or interpretive signage.

Our Lake Macquarie History website has more information on the history of Boolaroo including photos, links to articles on notable locations and residents and a Main Street Boolaroo Heritage Study published in 1997.
