At the meeting on Monday 12 December, Council adopted the revised Local Approvals Policy (LAP). You can view the Council Report here(refer to page 35).
The LAP describes activities which require approval from Council. The policy includes low impact activities like outdoor dining, placement of street stalls and performance on public land, and water, sewerage and drainage works.
The proposed changes to the LAP relate to footway trading, the temporary occupation of land during the construction of a dwelling, street stalls, mobile vending and events on Council land. These changes have been identified as requiring controls or improvement to existing controls to make it easier and clearer for people wanting to undertake this type of low impact activity. You can view the draft policy here.
