Thank you for all of the contributions to the survey. Your information will influence decisions on financial investment and sports tourism opportunities, an has helped us the economic benefits and impacts of sports events and activities across Lake Macquarie.
Sport is an integral part of our City's culture and identity. This is the first time we’ve addressed sport’s impact on driving our local economies. The survey responses help to inform decisions about where we should best invest, promote and support sports activities in Lake Macquarie and identify opportunities to boost sports tourism in the region.
Lake Macquarie’s reputation for hosting major sports events is growing, with recent successful events including the NSW Surf Life Saving Championships, Port 2 Port mountain bike race, the Lake Mac City Pro Junior surfing contest and the Gymnastics NSW Country Championships.
Our City is a fantastic destination for sporting groups, and a playground for major recreational and competitive sports events, but we want to hear from the sports organisations and participants about their experiences.

This survey is designed to gather information from our professional and amateur sporting associations, groups and clubs to assess the economic benefits and impacts of sport in Lake Macquarie. It would be ideal to hear from management teams and committee member representatives for sporting organisations. Thanks for your support.
Information from the survey will help
determine which sports attract local, regional and interstate events, how many
participants and spectators they attract each year and what times of year are
busiest for any given sport. It will also show where there is growth potential and identifying areas for further support and future investment.
By completing this survey, your organisation will assist Council to make informed decisions to best support the sporting community, not only in Lake Macquarie but the region.
Thank you for your contribution, the survey takes 5-10 mins to complete.
