Cooranbong shared pathway

We’re making it easier to access play spaces in Cooranbong.

In 2027, we’ll upgrade car parking along Freemans Drive at Cooranbong Town Common and start construction of a new shared pathway connecting the common to the Kurnell Close and Babers Road intersection.

As part of the project, existing unsealed car parking around the playground and amenities will be sealed and line marked to improve vehicle access and safety.The new shared pathway will improve pedestrian and cycle access and connect with the existing shared pathway on Freemans Drive, which provides access through to the town centre.

Construction will be completed in two stages:

• Stage One: Car park improvements and shared pathway construction across Cooranbong Town Common to the amenities

• Stage Two: Shared pathway construction from the amenities to the Kurnell Close and Babers Road intersection.

The designs include access ramps and construction of a pedestrian refuge to enable safe crossing at Martinsville Road, and a proposed pedestrian crossing across Babers Road to Kurnell Close.

We asked our community for feedback on the designs throughout August and September 2026. Staff are now reviewing feedback and will make any required changes to the design before sharing these updated plans with the community.
