Draft Plan of Management for Teralba Reserve

Now open for public exhibition

The draft Plan of Management for Teralba Reserve is now on public exhibition until 31 January 2025. You are invited to review the draft plan and provide a written submission.

Overview

This draft Plan of Management has been developed for Teralba Reserve, a 6100m² parcel of community land at 66 Pitt St, Teralba. Within the reserve is the Teralba Cemetery and a pocket park with a playground. The land is owned and managed by Lake Macquarie City Council.

The Local Government Act 1993 requires all community land to be included in a Plan of Management (PoM). The PoM identifies the values of the land, appropriate uses of the land, and identifies objectives and actions to ensure that the values are protected and that the reserve is managed for existing and future use.

The draft Teralba Reserve PoM recognises a range of values for the reserve including heritage, recreation, biodiversity conservation and infrastructure provision. It includes management actions that aim to protect the cultural fabric of the cemetery, improve public access and maintain the pocket park and playground for the surrounding community. The draft plan of management has been prepared in accordance with the Local Government Act and is consistent with the Teralba Cemetery Conservation Strategy 2019. A summary of the PoM is also avaiable to view.

The draft Teralba Reserve PoM is now on public exhibition until 31 January 2025. You are invited to review the PoM and make a written submission.

Hard copies of the PoM are available to view at Speers Point Libary and Toronto Library.
