Thank you to everyone who made a submission. Council adopted the draft Ending Homelessness Plan 2021-2024 on Monday 23 August 2021.
The plan outlines a strategic direction for Council to support community organisations and government agencies, and will deliver on Council's commitment towards ending homelessness in Lake Macquarie.
Access to safe and secure shelter is a basic human right. We’ve taken the Hunter Ending Homelessness Pledge and adopted a Homelessness Policy Commitment taking action to end homelessness in Lake Macquarie.
Using evidence based, long-term solutions and a connection to our community, we'll work collaboratively with our community and local services to ensure people suffering with homelessness have the opportunity to thrive.
