How do I use the interactive map?

The interactive map plots capital projects planned across the city as part of our draft Operational Plan 2024-2025.

It performs best when accessed via a desktop or laptop computer. For the best user experience, click on the 'Looker Studio' link in the bottom right-hand corner of the map.

From there, you'll be able to click around the map to learn more about the projects planned for your area. You can also filter by project type or suburb.

Projects that span across multiple suburbs, such as shared pathways, are pinned to just one suburb location. If a suburb is not listed as a filter option, there are no projects planned for that suburb in 2023-2024.

If you are having trouble using the interactive map, you can access project information via the draft Operational Plan and budget 2024-2025.

How to make a submission

How can I make a submission?

    • Provide written feedback via the online submission form on this website.
    • Email [email protected](External link) with the subject heading "Operational Plan and budget 2024-2025" by 22 April 2024.
    • Write to Corporate Strategy, Box 1906, Hunter Region Mail Centre, NSW 2310

Printed copies of the draft Operational Plan and budget 2024-2025 are available from the Council Administrative Centre in Speers Point and Lake Mac Libraries branches.

I've made a submission - what happens next?

Feedback may result in further changes being made to the draft Operational Plan and budget prior to a report being prepared for Council, which is expected in late May 2024.

You will be notified again, prior to Council considering the matter, which will include a link to the Council report containing a summary of submissions and how feedback was considered.

What should I put in a submission?

Your submission can be as concise or as long as you wish:

Ideally, you will express your level of support for the draft Operational Plan and budget 2024-2025 and provide detailed and specific feedback. The feedback will be reviewed by staff and later presented to Council to make an informed decision.

Should multiple submissions be received from a single resident regarding this project, the feedback will be reviewed by staff and counted as one submission when reporting back to Council.

Any submission received by Council will be publicly available on Council’s website. Submissions may also be accessed under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. Council may reproduce submissions in Council reports or in Court proceedings.
