Council endorsed this planning proposal at its Standing Committee meeting on 2 December 2024. You can view the Council report online.
The objective of this proposal is to amend the Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan 2014 to rezone 1 Progress Road, Mount Hutton, from R2 Low Density Residential to E1 Local Centre zoning.
The proposal is intended to complement neighbouring development and help attract new services and employment opportunities to the town centre.
The proposal will allow for an increase in building heights on the site from the current maximum of 8.5m to a proposed maximum of 10m, and remove the minimum lot size requirement for the site.
