Wyee District Park upgrade

FAQ

The current local-level playground and skate facility are in need of renewal.

To serve the growing community in our city’s southwest, Council has identified expansion and upgrade of the reserve to a district-level park, including neighbourhood-level playground facility. Council has recently purchased landat 122-124 Wyee road to facilitate its expansion.

Wyee Community Hall Reserve includes a local-level playground, two tennis courts, a modular skate facility and Wyee Community Hall.

  • Expansion of the reserve to include land at 122-124 Wyee Road
  • Replacement of the existing local playground with a neighbourhood-level playground
  • Replacement of the skate park with new skate park or an alternate youth active recreation facility identified in consultation with the community
  • Landscaping, park furniture, carparking and pathways.

A district park is a larger park, 2-5km from your home, that you might walk, ride or drive to, which provides several facilities for play, recreation and socialising.

Feedback from the inital community engagement (29 September 2025 - 9 Feburary 2026) was considered by the project team along with site constraints, budget and Council requirements to prepare the draft master plan.

You're now inited to provide feedback on the draft master plan design, including whether you would like to keep the existing two tennis courts or replace them with a multi-sport court.

Have your say before 3 August 2026 by completing the four-question online survey.

Council has funding in the current 4-year Delivery Program to undertake planning and design of the District Park. Delivery of the project is likely to be in stages and will be subject to future funding priorities.  The replacement of the  skate park will be delivered first.

Council will investigate opportunities for relocation within Wyee including potentially at Wyee Oval.

We heard a lot of community feedback in the initial consultation about the importance of building this pathway.  This has been passed onto the relevant stakeholders and the pathway has been included in the park master plan designs.

Delivery of the pathway is not in the scope of this project. However, section 7.12 City Wide Development Contributions Plan identifies funding for upgrade of the intersection at Hue Hue Road and associated pathways which will deliver some of the pathway.

At this stage, footpath connections between the Radcliffe Estate development and key destinations, including the park and shops, will be delivered as development on the surrounding land occurs.  A timeframe is currently unavailable for the completion of this pathway as it is dependent on the rate of development.

Council acquired land at 300 Bushells Ridge Road, Wyee to provide a future sporting complex. Detailed planning will be undertaken as demand for additional organised sporting competition space is required. Tennis courts may be included when planning this future sporting complex; however, there is currently no confirmed timeline for when this facility will be delivered.

Council has also acquired land for a local park and playground at 42 Soreina Drive, Wyee. Council is currently in the process of developing an agreement that will permit this new facility to be constructed by the Radcliff Estate developer on behalf of Council.

In the next 12 months, Council is looking to engage a Skate Park Designer to develop concept design options for the skate park element. When these are ready, the community with have an opportunity to provide further feedback on concept options.
