Morisset shared pathway

FAQs

We are in the early stages of design for Stage 2 of the Cooranbong to Morisset cycling route.

Detailed design is scheduled to continue into 2027-2028, with construction of the new shared pathway expected from 2030, subject to adoption of our future Delivery Program.

Stage 2 of the Cooranbong to Morisset cycling route is part financed by development contributions provided to Council under a planning agreement with the developer of the Watagan Park Estate.

Council will apply for State and Federal Government grants to top-up this funding to cover the full cost of construction.

A separate project to install a roundabout at the intersection of Freemans Drive and Stockton Street is in its early stages.

These shared pathways works have been planned to integrate with the planned intersection upgrade.

Council is in the early stages of planning and designing a future upgrade of Morisset Swim Centre, which will include a new dedicated learn-to-swim pool and improvements to the car park.

With this in mind, our shared pathway designs show driveway access to the centre from Kahibah Street slightly north-westward of its current location.

We’ll be seeking feedback from the community about the designs for Morisset Swim Centre as our plans are developed. Be sure to sign up to Shape Lake Mac and receive our monthly e-newsletter so you don’t miss the opportunity to share your feedback.
