The Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan 2014 (LEP) sets the local framework for land use in Lake Macquarie. It identifies land use zones and other planning provisions such as building heights. The LEP also identifies items and areas of heritage significance.
The West Wallsend Heritage Conservation Area and 37 individual heritage items in West Wallsend and Holmesville are current local heritage listings in the LEP.
The Lake Macquarie Development Control Plan 2014 (DCP) supports the LEP. The DCP provides controls to guide new development. The DCP contains both general parts and additional controls for specific land uses and areas.
The current West Wallsend/Holmesville Heritage Precinct Area Plan is part of our DCP.
